Maori Proverb
"Turn your face to the sun, and shadows fall behind you."
I love how sunflowers follows the sun. During the course of the day, the head tracks the journey of the sun across the sky. A satellite dish for sunshine. Wherever light is, no matter how weak, these flowers will find it. And that's such an admirable thing. And what a wonderful lesson in life.
These little beauties are "Little Becka" Sunflowers . Known for the red/orange "halo" effect of their petals, Little Becka sunflowers are a dwarf sunflower variety that grow to about 1 to 2 feet tall. They're perfect for growing in smaller garden planters or boxes to brighten your day!
Painting based on a photo by Scully Ford. Used with unrestricted permission.
