Painting in the Midst of Beauty

I was lucky enough to join a group of fellow painters (Shout out to #AboutFace) at a beautiful site recently.

A dozen of us painted plein at the beautiful historic Kincaid-Anderson House near Jenkinsville, SC. It was built in 1774 and has absolutely wonderfully scenic grounds and gardens. We had wonderful weather too. Really everything for a perfect morning of painting. And I enjoyed, it, I really did. And yet, despite all the advantages, my painting was, well... let's just say it wasn't my best work. Truthfully, one of my worst in a while.

I feel lucky though, it means I'm still stretching and learning. So, it's all good!
